Photos of Portland International Rose Test Garden

The photos were taken on 6 July 1997 at the Portland International Rose Test Garden in Washington Park. This is a test area for experimental roses where they try to breed roses with certain colors and aromas. These pictures were taken with my new camera, which helps explain why I took so many. Click on a picture to get a larger version, which I definitely recommend for most of these photos. Enjoy -- Jim

The larger version of this image shows this flower better.
Looking onto the Royal Rosarian portion of the garden.
I don't know the names of any of the varieties of roses. If someone knows what photo has what variety, let me know and I'll put that info here.
Interesting pink, yellow and white colors here.
The middle section of the garden in the foreground, and the city of Portland in the background.
It was mostly cloudy the day I went out, but I tried to get most of the photos while the sun was out.
Nice colors.
I don't know what these are called.
The garden can help inspire romance.
I like the colors here.
There was a harpsichordist playing the day I was there.
Another photo of Portland.
